What Is Chainstitch Embroidery?
Chainstitch embroidery is an old-school technique done on vintage, non-computerized machines, completely controlled by hand. Each design is drawn personally—sometimes sketched right on the item, sometimes printed from a digital sketch like a stencil, and sometimes completely freehand. Because of this hands-on process, every piece is totally one-of-a-kind.

You use a machine, how is it not computerized?
Each stitch is guided manually, with speed and needle direction controlled by me directly. This makes every piece unique. Computerized embroidery, on the other hand, follows a digital program, producing identical designs without the personal touch and character of hand-stitched work.

Where are you based?
Brooklyn is home, but I love a good adventure! I’m happy to travel for events anywhere in the U.S. or even internationally. I’ve got an updated passport and am fluent in English and Portuguese, so lets make it happen!
-
Can I have multiple Chainstitchers for my event?
Yes! For large crowds, it’s a good idea to add one or two extra chainstitchers to make sure we can keep up with demand and keep the energy flowing at live events.
-
Do you supply the products?
Nope! I provide all the thread, stabilizer, and everything else needed to bring the designs to life—but you’ll need to supply the actual items (bandanas, bags, backpacks, etc). I’m happy to review any products your team is considering to make sure the fabric is a good fit for chainstitch embroidery.

How is pricing determined?
Pricing can vary depending on a few factors, so there’s no one-size-fits-all. For live events, costs are based on event length, distance, expected turnout, and more. For bespoke pieces, pricing depends on the size (per square inch), the number of thread colors, and the complexity of the design or logo.
